Danny's New "Toy" - September 28

To Sleep or Not to Sleep - September 28

As anyone with more than one child knows, two kids from the same genetic pool can be VERY different. One of the big differences between our boys is that Wyatt hates to sleep (Danny thinks that Wyatt sees it as a form of weakness!) but Colter loves naptime and can sleep anywhere. When Wyatt was Colter's age he had already given up naps (he would lay in bed for over an hour and not fall asleep), but Colter sleeps for at least 2 hours everyday! I took this picture one afternoon when Colter had woken up a little too early from his nap and fallen back asleep on the pillows in the family room. As you can see Wyatt is wide awake and really wants Colter to wake up, too!

Florida: Family in Starke - September 20-24

Wyatt and Colter loved playing with the blocks that use to belong to Grandpa (Danny's Dad).
We also got to vist Danny's great aunts, Myrtice and Noble.

After two days in Starke it was time to say good-bye and head to our next destination.

Castro County Fair: Parade - Sept 7-9

As soon as we got on the float we discovered that our job wasn't just to wave and smile, but also to throw candy to every child we drove past. The kids come prepared with plastic bags and run around getting the candy as it is thrown. Here are the boys inspecting our bucket of throwing candy.
Colter has been practicing the fine art of throwing for the past several months, so he loved throwing the candy and watching the kids run to get it.

Wyatt liked throwing the candy, too - except for the Smarties. After M&Ms those are his favorite candy. He quickly started picking them out of the bucket and stuffing them into his pocket. One time he saw me throw some Smarties and said "No Mama! You can't throw the Smarties. We have to go back and get it so I can put it in my pocket!" Several hours after the parade he was still telling Noni how Mama threw the Smarties and we needed to go find them!
