"There are packing peanuts everywhere!" - September 28

Danny's New "Toy" - September 28

Danny used some of the money from his first paycheck to make a down payment on his new Nissan Frontier. Not only is it four wheel drive, but it has the "off road package"! He was very sad when he had to sell his truck two years ago and has been counting down the days until he could get another one. He made sure this one has plenty of room for the boys carseats so he can take it on their outdoor adventures!

To Sleep or Not to Sleep - September 28

As anyone with more than one child knows, two kids from the same genetic pool can be VERY different. One of the big differences between our boys is that Wyatt hates to sleep (Danny thinks that Wyatt sees it as a form of weakness!) but Colter loves naptime and can sleep anywhere. When Wyatt was Colter's age he had already given up naps (he would lay in bed for over an hour and not fall asleep), but Colter sleeps for at least 2 hours everyday! I took this picture one afternoon when Colter had woken up a little too early from his nap and fallen back asleep on the pillows in the family room. As you can see Wyatt is wide awake and really wants Colter to wake up, too!

Going Fast! - September 27

While we were at the beach Wyatt spotted a little boy riding a bike just like his new one. He said, "That bike is just like mine, but it knows how to go fast. I want to teach my bike to go fast." After we got back from our trip he worked hard "teaching" his bike to go fast and in just a couple of days he was racing around the driveway like a champ! Now if we can just get Colter to pedal his tricycle instead of pushing with his feet, Danny will have a couple of riding buddies!

Bicycle Ride - September 25

Danny got a bike trailer to go with his new bike so that he can take the boys on bike rides. Here are some pictures from their first riding adventure!

Florida: The Boat Ride - September 20-24

Our flight didn't leave Jacksonville until Sunday afternoon, so on Sunday morning we went on a boat ride with Uncle Paul, Aunt Cheryl, Missy, Liz and Will. The boys got to see some dolphins, do some fishing and Wyatt even got to drive the boat!Even on the boat Colter still managed to get his afternoon nap!

Florida: The Beach - September 20-24

We spent Saturday at the beach. It was a pretty windy day, so the waves were a little bigger than normal. Wyatt (who isn't a big fan of things he can't understand) wasn't really excited about playing in the waves. Colter (who is still pretty trusting) had lots of fun "wave jumping" with his Daddy.

After spending some time in the water, both boys enjoyed playing in the sand.

Florida: Family in Jacksonville - September 20-24

Our next stop was Jacksonville to visit PaPa and Grandma Emily. Colter kept telling their dog, Candy, "No-No" when she would walk near him!
All of Danny's Jacksonville Family (aunts, uncles and cousins) came over for a family dinner on Saturday night.
Wyatt and Colter had fun playing with Taylor.
Aunt Cheryl, Uncle Paul and Wyatt enjoying some "Scooby snacks."

Colter with Aunt Cheryl and "little" Paul.

Wyatt and Colter with "Luke." Colter really wanted to bring him home with us on the airplane!

Florida: Family in Starke - September 20-24

Our first stop was Starke, Florida to visit Papa and Grandma.
Wyatt and Colter loved the nice backyard and beautiful weather.

Wyatt and Colter loved playing with the blocks that use to belong to Grandpa (Danny's Dad).

We also got to vist Danny's great aunts, Myrtice and Noble.

After two days in Starke it was time to say good-bye and head to our next destination.

Florida: The Airport September 20-24

We left on Wednesday afternoon for a trip to Florida to see Danny's grandparents and lots of aunts, uncles and cousins. It had been a long time since we had been to Florida and we were looking forward to a great visit.Colter loved watching the planes at the airport and Wyatt loved taking off and landing in the airplane.

A Camera of Their Own - September 19

As most of you know, we are a family that loves to take pictures. Our boys have started wanting to use our cameras, so we thought it might be time to get them one of their own. Colter loves pushing the button and waiting for the flash, Wyatt loves seeing his picture after he's taken it and we love not having to worry about them dropping our cameras!

Here is a picture Wyatt took of a tower that he built.

Shaving Cream - September 19

In a moment of bravery one afternoon I pulled out the shaving cream and let Wyatt and Colter "paint" the utility room floor. As you can see from the pictures, Colter painted a little bit more than the floor!

Towel Boys - September 14

The boys love taking showers with their Daddy in the mornings. Here is a post-shower picture after Danny has wrapped them up in their towels.

Our Little Animals - September 8

I bought these masks when I was teaching. The boys love them! Wyatt's favorite is the owl (owls are his current obsession - he's actually "whooing" in the picture) and Colter loves the lion because he can roar very loudly! Then there's also the bear, the dog, the cat...it's like a zoo around here!

Castro County Fair: Parade - Sept 7-9

The boys and I rode on the hospital's float in the parade. Danny was on call, so he didn't make it to the parade, but he was able to go to the rest of the fair with us.
The Bizzells rode on the float with us. He is one of the other physicians. Their two youngest kids are in preschool with Wyatt.

As soon as we got on the float we discovered that our job wasn't just to wave and smile, but also to throw candy to every child we drove past. The kids come prepared with plastic bags and run around getting the candy as it is thrown. Here are the boys inspecting our bucket of throwing candy.

Colter has been practicing the fine art of throwing for the past several months, so he loved throwing the candy and watching the kids run to get it.

Wyatt liked throwing the candy, too - except for the Smarties. After M&Ms those are his favorite candy. He quickly started picking them out of the bucket and stuffing them into his pocket. One time he saw me throw some Smarties and said "No Mama! You can't throw the Smarties. We have to go back and get it so I can put it in my pocket!" Several hours after the parade he was still telling Noni how Mama threw the Smarties and we needed to go find them!

Castro County Fair: Other Pictures - September 7-9

The boys loved the inflatable slide at the fair...
and they also loved the trumpets Noni and Papa bought them from one of the vendors!

Danny and I both entered some photographs in the arts and crafts competition. All of our pictures won ribbons and one of mine even won "Best of Show."
