Kid Quote of the Week

Zane (handing me a plastic bowl with a rubber ducky inside): "Mama, here is some bessert (dessert) I made for you."

Me: "Wow! What is it?"

Zane: "It's a duck that I shot myself and then cooked."

Castro County Fair: Parade - Sept 7-9

The boys and I rode on the hospital's float in the parade. Danny was on call, so he didn't make it to the parade, but he was able to go to the rest of the fair with us.
The Bizzells rode on the float with us. He is one of the other physicians. Their two youngest kids are in preschool with Wyatt.

As soon as we got on the float we discovered that our job wasn't just to wave and smile, but also to throw candy to every child we drove past. The kids come prepared with plastic bags and run around getting the candy as it is thrown. Here are the boys inspecting our bucket of throwing candy.

Colter has been practicing the fine art of throwing for the past several months, so he loved throwing the candy and watching the kids run to get it.

Wyatt liked throwing the candy, too - except for the Smarties. After M&Ms those are his favorite candy. He quickly started picking them out of the bucket and stuffing them into his pocket. One time he saw me throw some Smarties and said "No Mama! You can't throw the Smarties. We have to go back and get it so I can put it in my pocket!" Several hours after the parade he was still telling Noni how Mama threw the Smarties and we needed to go find them!
