One of our last stops on the way to Pasadena was Joshua Tree National Park in California. We didn't have high expectations for Joshua Tree, but we were pleasantly surprised. It is an absolutely spectacular area of desert vegetation and unusual rock formations. We ate lunch at one of the picnic areas, the boys did some exploring around the rocks and then we finished our drive to Pasadena (while both boys napped!).
